IT’S CELEBRATION TIME!

Wishing our beloved GM Anish giri a happy birthday with some down to memory lanes!

Anish! The name itself has a very beautiful and mind soothing meaning. In Indian culture it means “LORD KRISHNA”. Resembling those qualities of lord Krishna I must say this young talent is one or the biggest example of a dedicated person towards his passion.

Anish Kumar Giri has very magnificently engraved his name in the world of chess and its shining because of his hardwork, dedication and love he he has for chess.

He is a Russian born Dutch chess player. Being a former chess prodigy , he completed the requirements for the title GRANDMASTER at a very tender age of 14 years, 7months and 2 days only! This incredible achievement and his love for chess demonstrated his passion and dedication in this world and this achievement made him the youngest Grandmaster in the world at the time FIDE awarded him the title in 2009.

Born in the family of GIRI'S namely MR.SANJAY GIRI and MRS. OLGA GIRI  on 28thjune 1994 (that’s today) this rising star not only made his family proud but also won laurels in the world of chess.

Talking about his personal life and achievement at a glance, he is a prodigious youngster indeed ; getting married in the year2015 to Georgian IM SOPIKO GURAMASHVILI , becoming husband at age of 21 and father at age of 22 shows his unconventional and independent thinking. All achieved at a very young age though! Which is quite a proud to be moment!

He possess excellent sense of humor and this is amply seen on his social media accounts( the twitter and instagram ones)

Anish giri celebrates his 26th birthday today. Some of his biggest career victories include -winning the Reggio Emilia super tournament in 2012, Reykjavik Open in 2017, joint 1st at the London Chess Classic and WijkAan Zee 2018. In 2019 he won the Shenzhen Masters silencing many of his detractors who mentioned that he had never won a super tournament in his career (although Reggio Emilia was clearly a super tournament). As on June 2020 he is ranked world no.10 with a rating of 2764.

CHESSVICKY.COM wishes this amazing personality and young rising talent and the bright future of the chess a very happy 26th birthday!
