Classical, Rapid, and Blitz Chess Championship were organized in the Western Asian Chess Championship held at Maldives, in which Bhagyashree Patil won two gold medals for India in the Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship, and in the classical tournament, she had to settle for fifth place.
U-18 National Champion Bhagyashree Patil scored 4 points in 5 rounds with 4 wins and 1 loss in the Western Asian Blitz Chess Championship for girls under 18.
She defeated the following players in a Blitz chess tournament. 1. WCM Wickremesinghe Minethma Lasandi (Sri Lanka) 2. Qazi Zareen Tasneem (Bangladesh) 3. Slapoguzov Oksana (Uzbekistan) 4. Mirlan Kizi Azalia (Kazakhstan) and Uzbekistan's WCM Sultanbek Zinep had to accept defeat.
